Glen Illing is Chief Executive officer of Roslin Technologies as well as a Director of JBI Equity portfolio companies. A commercially driven leader with a truly global record, Glen is skilled in building and developing Life Science, Agribusiness and Biotechnology companies and thrives in bridging the gap between science, technology and business.
Glen received his MBA from Bath University after graduating in Agriculture from Seale-Hayne Plymouth University, and awarded a postgraduate Management diploma at Oxford Brookes University. He has over 25 years management experience in strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions, greenfield start-ups and franchising operations, leading multinational and geographically dispersed teams, developing and implementing global strategies across Asia, Central Europe, South America, USA and Europe.
George Roy is our Chief Financial Officer at Roslin Technologies. A UK qualified chartered accountant, he has over 20 years’ experience in CFO and General Manager positions with two French groups in France, P.R.China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Bangladesh, where he set up and managed agricultural, manufacturing and sales operations, before joining Roslin Technologies in July 2017. He also has extensive advisory and M&A experience in accountancy and taxation, investment banking and consultancy in the UK, Switzerland, the French Caribbean and the USA. George is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and qualified as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He is fluent in French and also proficient in German and in written and spoken Chinese.
Simon Wheeler is Chief Operating Officer at Roslin Technologies. He brings a wealth of experience in the veterinary and animal health pharma industry. Simon is a veterinary graduate of University of Bristol, holds a PhD from the University of London, and an MBA from the Open University Business School. He is a specialist in veterinary neurology. He has held academic roles in the UK and US. His pharma experience covers technical services, global marketing, strategy, portfolio management and biotech investment.
Professor Jacqui Matthews is our Chief Technology Officer. She is an international authority in veterinary parasitology, with a focus on diagnostics and vaccine development. Prior to joining the company, Jacqui was in academia where her research group studied gastrointestinal worms. During this time, Jacqui won over £13 million in funding and led several large research programmes including the EU Horizon 2020 consortium PARAGONE and the Scottish Partnership for Animal Science Excellence. She has published over 140 peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters, with numerous industry-facing media, including newspaper articles, TV programmes and blogs. In 2017, she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for meritorious contributions to knowledge and was conferred Elsevier’s International Journal for Parasitology Award. She is a RCVS Specialist in Parasitology and Honorary Professor at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (Edinburgh). In 2019 she moved to Roslin Technologies where she leads on academic partnerships and drives the R&D programme, identifying target projects, sourcing funding and managing these projects through the company’s development pipeline.
