Breathing innovation into AgTech: Roslin Tech’s plans for growth
We are breathing innovation into the sustainable protein sector, bringing disruptive technologies to existing markets and leading the way in high-growth emerging areas; that was the message from the Roslin Tech executive team and Chairman Andy Porter at our recent investor event.
The webinar, on Investing in Pioneering Sustainable AgTech and organised by Milltrust International, highlighted the fantastic potential for expansion within Roslin Tech, which reflects the growth in sectors that our science can impact.
Chief Scientific Officer, Prof. Jacqui Matthews, spoke in detail about how Roslin Tech moves scientific concepts from the intellectual property stage through to commercialisation opportunities and eventual scale-up. At Roslin Tech we have a conveyor belt of opportunities, not just locally within Edinburgh taking advantage of our close relationship with the Roslin Institute, but also internationally, as seen through our partner companies such as Singapore-based Protenga.
The foundation of our work at Roslin Tech is our dedication to finding innovative solutions to issues that are becoming increasingly important in the world. From disease resistance in livestock, to creating new green feed with lower CO2 emissions, through to ensuring there is plentiful protein through multiple sources for an increasing world population. We are underpinned by innovative science and sustainable future development.
The passion of our speakers, engendered by years of experience in both cutting-edge research and the commercialisation of science, shone through; the track record of the executive team, including Founder and Executive Director Glen Illing, and Managing Director John Clinkenbeard, underscores their ability to move our innovative projects through to commercial fruition and venture building.
