Roslin Technologies

Roslin Technologies is an ambitious, cutting‐edge biotech company focused on the development of animal stem cells for the production of cultivated meat. Our mission is to advance how the world produces meat and we envision a world where everyone has access to affordable, nutritious, and responsibly produced protein.

The shift towards cultivated meat is accelerating, and it all starts with cells. Our work as a cell line provider, using ground-breaking technology, is unique in the industry. Our cells play a key role in bringing the future of cultivated meat closer to reality.

Our offices and labs are based at the Roslin Innovation Centre in Edinburgh. To complement our own internal capabilities, we have privileged access to experts and intellectual property from the world-famous Roslin Institute, which is co-located on the Easter Bush Campus. Together with our partners, we commercialise our cells and make meat production more sustainable.

What we look for

Our team of experts are passionate, curious, inventive and at the forefront of the ground-breaking work being accomplished in the rapidly growing cultivated meat sector.

You could join us if you are experienced and passionate in the following:

  • Stem cell biology
  • Tissue culture
  • Bioprocessing
  • Cell culture media development

Some of the experience and skills we are looking for:

  • BSc, MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Industry experience or working to GMP standards
  • Tissue culture experience
  • Experience of cell & molecular biology
  • Ability to develop and test protocols
  • Ability to deliver a research project, including design and execution of experiments
  • Experience of different cell reprogramming strategies and delivery techniques
  • Experience of reprogramming cells from food-relevant species and in iPSC culture
  • Interest/experience in bioinformatics
  • Experience in project delivery/report writing and/or commercial R&D projects
  • Experience of mammalian cell scale up systems
  • Experience of operating various bioreactors
  • Ability to develop and test protocols
  • Practical experience of working in the area of cultivated meat, ideally focusing on the scale up aspect
